New at NeoCon: Humanscale is Challenging the Traditional Workspace

Leading Ergonomic Designer and Manufacturer To Offer New Solutions for the Evolving Workspace & Beyond

New York, NY, June 2, 2016 – As the traditional workplace undergoes rapid transformation, Humanscale, the pioneer in design, ergonomics and innovation, is leading the charge with a myriad of solutions, including never-before-seen Niels Diffrient designs that will change the way people work.

For NeoCon 2016, Humanscale’s Chicago showroom (351) will feature workspace and healthcare solutions that enhance wellness and comfort, and encourage movement. Showcasing developments in technology and engineering, each offering is also marked by Humanscale’s core design values, including inherent simplicity, functionality and ease of use.

Some of the newer products on display will include:

Diffrient Occasional Chairs
Designed by ergonomics pioneer Niels Diffrient, the Diffrient Occasional chairs are ideal for users in need of a multipurpose, cantilever stacking chair suitable for a variety of office settings. Each of the three variations, designed to complement Humanscale’s Liberty, Diffrient Smart, and Diffrient World task chairs, uses a tri-panel backrest made with proprietary non-stretch mesh to create a three-dimensional form that fits like a tailored shirt, providing support in all positions. Their contoured seat cushions follow the natural shape of the human body for optimal comfort. The Diffrient Occasional chairs will be shown alongside never-before-seen designs from Niels Diffrient that challenge tradition and present a new way to sit. More details to come.

Trea
Humanscale’s Trea chair features a sophisticated design that embodies versatility and represents the next generation of multipurpose seating. Inspired by the simplest of nature’s structures, Todd Bracher designed it to mimic the instinctive recline of the human body and embrace the sitter in a supportive shell. Three interchangeable base options and a variety of seat upholstery options will be available later this year.

Corde 4 Textile
Corde 4, Humanscale’s newest textile, is a four-way-stretch design that moves with the sitter as they adjust positions in their chair, providing superior comfort. Its intricate weave structure, dimensional surface and wide array of neutral and vibrant shades are visually appealing and engaging to the touch. Corde 4 goes above industry testing standards, resulting in greater durability, stability and recovery, and supports the ergonomic objectives of Humanscale chairs.

Vessel
Humanscale is creating a new category of lighting with the Vessel light from designer Todd Bracher. Offering the benefits of both quality architectural lighting and decorative lighting, Vessel yields itself to a new category coined by Humanscale as performance lighting. Made from the highest quality quartz crystal, Vessel provides beautiful, glare-free light in a simple, refined form. Rather than taking a stylistic approach to lighting, Vessel was designed with a focus on physics and optical engineering, and emerged from the aim to achieve the highest possible quality of light. It offers perfect diffusion, is well balanced, and has a high color rendering — resulting in a light that is functional and pure.

QuickStand Lite
Humanscale’s QuickStand Lite™ was expertly designed to make sit/stand solutions accessible to everyone by transforming any fixed-height desk into an active one. Easily incorporated into an existing setting, this height-adjustable workstation features an adjustable keyboard platform and monitor arm to make transitions between postures easy, seamless and intuitive — encouraging movement at work.

M/Connect
A powerful workspace connectivity hub, M/Connect provides universal connectivity with a small footprint. It offers easy access to user ports and conceals IT connections and cords with its unique cable management system. Consisting of two levels, M/Connect’s USB hub resides on the work surface and provides three USB ports plus a combo headphone/microphone jack directly in front of the user. The undersurface dock includes three USB ports, an HDMI and DisplayPort connection for video, and a Gigabit Ethernet port for the network/Internet connectivity. The result is a unique, all-in-one monitor arm base and USB 3.0, dual-video docking station designed to support workers in an active, adaptive workspace.

M/Power
Humanscale's M/Power is the first-ever fully integrated computer support arm to accommodate up to six monitors (four with power). It features a central power column and adjustable crossbar with an integrated cable management solution — for quick and easy installation — and a clean, cord-free work area. All power and USB outlets are right where they’re needed for easy plug and play access.

MedLink
MedLink secures medication delivery while enhancing patient safety. It is expertly designed to reduce human error and supports a closed-loop medication system. MedLink optimizes clinical workflows and delivers medications and supplies securely. In addition to supporting pharmacy efficiency and compliance, it streamlines point-of-care medication administration and improves the patient experience.

Beyond the showroom, media can experience Humanscale in the NeoCon pressroom as the space will be outfitted with furniture for the check-in desk and workstations, as well as seating for the lounge, cafe and conference areas. Products featured include: Float sit/stand tables, Smart task chairs, Ballo stools, and Horizon and Element Disc task lamps.
