Humanscale® Showcases Innovative Hospitality Solutions at BDNY 2015
New Lighting and Seating Options Draw on the Design Company’s Expertise in Ergonomics, Placing Comfort at the Center of Hospitality Design
New York, NY, November 2015 – Humanscale is well known for creating ergonomic solutions that promote health, wellness, and comfort in the workplace. Its designs are uniquely well suited to hospitality settings, as demonstrated by the products on display at BDNY November 8–9 (booth 1037). Humanscale showcases several new seating and lighting options, ideal for guest rooms, suites and full service hotels. The offerings embody the company’s core values: unparalleled performance, longevity and ease of use.
In the seating category, the Diffrient Occasional line takes center stage. Designed by Ergonomics pioneer Niels Diffrient, the stackable, cantilever Occasional chairs are suitable for all collaborative spaces, meeting rooms and other guest areas. Created to complement Humanscale’s family of Diffrient mesh task seating, each Occasional design has a light aesthetic and minimalist lines that can be configured to match our Liberty, Diffrient Smart and Diffrient World® task chairs, providing a consistent and harmonious interior. Diffrient Occasional chairs are available to specify as of this month. On display alongside the Occasional line is Trea™, an elegant multipurpose chair from Todd Bracher. Trea won the prestigious Red Dot ‘Best of the Best Award’ in 2015 and will be available for order in 2016.
Humanscale is also showcasing its versatile portfolio of task lamps. The Element Disc™ is sleek, streamlined, easily adjustable, and highly efficient. Offering seven levels of brightness, Element Disc lamp uses Thin Film LED technology as well as PIR occupancy sensors, enhancing efficiency by turning the light on and off as users enter or leave. The award-winning Horizon™ task light is also featured. Having first launched in 2008, this striking minimalist piece is now in the permanent collections at MoMA and the Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum. This celebrated lighting option will be available in an array of exciting new colors in 2016. Visitors to the Humanscale booth will be treated to a rare “first-view” of the new Horizon color palette.
