New York, NY – This holiday season, Humanscale is honored to have its new Ballo stool featured in the WIRED Store, a go-to destination for consumers eager to check out a curated selection of the latest and most coveted products. In addition to its brick-and-mortar location in New York City, WIRED is unveiling a new e-shop at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the WIRED Store.

The annual holiday pop-up in NYC showcases items hand-selected by WIRED editors and curators, including the Don Chadwick designed Ballo from Humanscale along with the hottest electronics, accessories gadgets and adventure gear of the year. Located at 459 West 14th Street in Manhattan, the WIRED Store opens tomorrow, December 11, and runs through December 21. New for this year, WIRED has an e-shop situated between Terminals 7 and 8 at LAX, one of the country’s most heavily trafficked airports during the holiday season, with an estimated 2.6 million travelers. From now until December 31, interactive touchscreens will feature products from the 2014 WIRED Store collection.

Drawing inspiration from the playfulness of the exercise ball, Ballo is well suited for both professional and residential settings. Created by legendary designer Don Chadwick, Ballo is a multipurpose stool intended to promote low intensity physical activity and help reduce sedentary behavior. Available in vibrant colors Ballo’s spool-shaped central column supports two air-filled domes that form the base and the seat. Ballo features a counterweight to ensure it stays upright. Its lightweight construction and integrated handholds encourage users to move it around wherever they need it. Made with a thermoplastic elastomer material which doesn’t off-gas, Ballo is environmentally friendly.

“We’re excited to have our new Ballo stool in the WIRED holiday store this year. It’s an honor to be selected among the curated selection of 100 innovative products being featured. Ballo’s light-hearted design is as fun as it is functional it promoting a healthy alternative to sedentary seating,” said Chris Gibson, VP Marketing of Humanscale.
