Showcasing its commitment to sustainability, Humanscale, the global leader of ergonomic products for home, work and healthcare spaces, will exhibit at the Greening Government 2013 Conference and Exhibition on September 10 in London, U.K. Held at The Brewery Conference Centre, the 2013 event has a theme of ‘Delivering Change, Promoting Excellence’.

Humanscale’s sustainability mission is reflected in the products it will exhibit at the conference. Humanscale’s height-adjustable table the Float® height-adjustable table, the Diffrient World® chair and the Element Disc™ LED task light will be on display.
The Float height-adjustable table meets the demands of healthier work environments with an unprecedented combination of adjustability for a vast range of heights (51 cm of height adjustability) and weights (up to 59 kg of desktop weight, including the tabletop), along with streamlined good looks. With a unique counterbalance mechanism that provides constant counter-weighting force, it enables simple, one-hand weight adjustment, and constant-force height adjustment for ergonomic sit-stand usage—all without the use of an obstructive crossbeam or a cumbersome crank. Made for a long life, the Float height-adjustable table is composed predominantly of recyclable steel and is designed with minimal parts and manufacturing processes. Unlike electric-powered height-adjustable tables, it is able to balance the table’s load without using energy, which makes it exceptionally sustainable.
The epitome of simplicity in a task chair, the Diffrient World chair is made of just eight major parts and weighs only 30 pounds. It uses a revolutionary mechanism-free recline, which eliminates the need for manual adjustments. The Diffrient World chair features Form-Sensing Mesh Technology that ensures perfect lumbar support for every user without the bulky and often uncomfortable external lumbar devices found on all other mesh chairs. The chair’s ultra-light weight and minimal-part design require significantly less raw material and fewer manufacturing processes than many other high-performance task chairs. Its durability and modularity further minimize its environmental impact to ensure a long life of service.
In addition to these solutions, Humanscale will exhibit a highly sustainable task light that offers customizable illumination and fingertip adjustability to accommodate all of the user’s needs. Providing complete user control, the Element Disc LED task light features intuitive, smart dimming functionality, which affords the user seven levels of brightness and uses memory to save the last preferred light setting selected by the user. Creating an ultra-wide footprint of warm, glare-free light, it uses the innovative Thin Film LED Technology that was first manifested in the award-winning Horizon™ task light. For exceptional sustainability, the Element Disc LED task light is equipped with a passive infrared (PIR) occupancy sensor, which automatically turns the light off or on when the user leaves or enters the area.
