NEW YORK — At this year’s Hospitality Design Expo and Conference (HD Expo), Humanscale will present a number of solutions that are ideal for the hospitality market, including the Diffrient World chair and the Horizon and Element Disc LED task lights.

Visitors to the booth will be able to get a hands-on experience with a number of innovations that are perfect for hospitality settings, such as the Diffrient World chair. Made from just eight major parts and weighing only 25 pounds, the Diffrient World chair, which was designed by the legendary Niels Diffrient, is a revelation of simplicity—in both form and function. Using two frame components, the user’s body weight and the laws of physics, it automatically adjusts to the needs of every user. Its Form-Sensing Mesh Technology provides intuitive, body-fitting lumbar support for exceptional comfort.

A striking addition to any room, the Horizon LED task light fuses form and function. Offering brilliant color and excellent light distribution in a slender profile, Horizon uses revolutionary Thin Film LED Technology to create an ultra-wide footprint of warm, glare-free light that casts only one shadow. Its built-in dimmer control offers seven levels of adjustable illumination, allowing users to customize light intensity according to their preferences. For ease of use, the spherical joints in the Horizon LED task light’s head and base facilitate near-effortless positioning. The lamp’s head offers a full range of adjustability in all directions and variable height control for exact positioning. Engineered for incredible efficiency over its life span, it consumes only nine watts of power and is rated for up to 50,000 hours of use.

In addition to the Horizon LED task light, Humanscale offers the sleek, elegant Element Disc LED task light, which also uses Thin Film LED Technology. The easily adjustable Element Disc LED task light embodies the great strides made in LED lighting design in recent years. Providing complete user control, it features intuitive, smart-dimming functionality, which affords the user seven levels of brightness and uses memory to save the last preferred light setting selected by the user. For exceptional sustainability, the Element Disc LED task light is equipped with a passive infrared (PIR) occupancy sensor, which automatically turns the light off or on when the user leaves or enters the area. Even when not in use, it is an object of beauty, folding into a nesting position with its lamp head gracefully echoing the shape of its base.
