DEN BOSCH, NETHERLANDS — Worldwide ergonomics leader Humanscale will showcase some of its ergonomic offerings, such as the M/Flex monitor support system, the Element Disc LED task light and the Diffrient World task chair at Facilitair 2013, 16 – 18 January.
Addressing the need to reduce musculoskeletal injury, Humanscale has created the sophisticated M2™ and the heavy-duty M8™ monitor arms, as well as the latest addition to the line, M/Flex monitor support system, which holds up to six monitors on a single post or up to 12 monitors from two posts connected via crossbars. Humanscale’s monitor arms offer numerous benefits. By providing additional space on the work surface, these monitor arms help to prevent discomfort when writing or referencing. Their use reduces eye, neck and back strain by bringing the work to the user. And they adjust effortlessly to encourage neutral, ergonomic posture with fine-tuning for a wide range of users. Highly configurable, the M2, the M8 and M/Flex accommodate versatile work applications.
In addition to recognising the need for monitor arms, Humanscale has embraced dual-source lighting — a solution that has been gaining increasingly more attention—and offers an array of products to address the need for adjustable LED task lighting. After first presenting Thin Film LED Technology—which creates an ultra-wide footprint of warm, glare-free light that casts only one shadow on the work surface—in its sleek Horizon™ LED task light, Humanscale again demonstrated this technology in the easily adjustable Element Disc. Providing complete user control, the Element Disc LED task light features intuitive, smart dimming functionality, which affords the user seven levels of brightness and uses memory to save the last preferred light setting selected by the user. For exceptional sustainability and ease of use, it is equipped with a passive infrared (PIR) occupancy sensor, which automatically turns the light off or on when the user leaves or enters the area. Even when not in use, the Element Disc LED task light is an object of beauty, folding into a nesting position with its lamp head gracefully echoing the shape of its base.
With a stable of ergonomic task chairs to its name, Humanscale has exceeded expectations of comfort and simplicity with its Diffrient World chair. The Diffrient World chair implements Humanscale’s signature weight-sensitive recline, tailored lumbar support and Form-Sensing Mesh Technology—all with just 11.3 kilograms (25 pounds) in weight (half the weight of traditional task chairs) and only eight major parts.
These and other solutions can be experienced in person at hall 1, stand 073 at Facilitair 2013.
